World’s Magnetic Field might Flip Soon Saturday, Jan 28 2006

We all know that the world’s magnetic field is weakening, but could it be because we are due for a magnetic field reversal? This would mean that animals might go the wrong way during migration or the fact that compasses might swing 180 degrees and point south. The magnetic shield might even disappear for a century or two.

I did a science project on this a few years ago. Very interesting topic. I hope it doesn’t flip though, that will cause a lot of problems.

Rose Bowl Game Thursday, Jan 5 2006

To those of you who don’t know what the Rose Bowl game is, it is the championship in the college league. I have been paying attention to USC mainly to watch Reggie Bush. He is just unbelieveably good.

Today the game was between USC and Texas. Obviously took place at the Rose Bowl stadium, which is about a 5 minute drive from my house. I was going for USC the whole game and it appeared that they were going to win it. There were a few crucial plays that messed it up for them, mainly a coaching error. A play that allowed Texas to get a touchdown was called incorrectly and USC didn’t decide to have the play reviewed. If they had then it would of taken a touchdown away from Texas and would of allowded USC to win at the end of the game.

USC’s loss was not a big deal to me though. I am happy for Texas because this was their first win in something like 30 years. :? Vince Young, the quarterback for Texas, just destoryed USC. He made almost every pass he attempted and he just ran the ball like a running back. If not for him, they would of lost the game terribly. Still hats off to the Texas team though. They played a great game.
